Device and access provisioning for a fast-scaling 200+ person company.

Problem

A 200+ person company scaling fast. Provisioning devices and access for new hires ran manually through a sequential approval chain, scattered across email, chat and tickets. The bottleneck sat in the chain of approval dependencies, which slowed onboarding and made accountability hard to trace.

Design decisions

A thin orchestration layer sits between the HR system and the existing tools. Provision first, approve in parallel afterwards, revoke automatically on rejection, with a full audit log. States and edge cases (late rejection, HR data changes, cancellation) are modeled explicitly from the start, so speed does not come at the cost of control.

What the design is built to do

Remove the sequential approval chain so provisioning moves faster, shift the operations team from firefighting to proactive work, and keep an audit trail tight enough for the company to keep growing safely.
